If you haven’t been in the area recently, Dairy Block is really taking shape as most of the exterior has been completed and reflects the industrial design of the block. Dairy Block is a mixed-use office, retail and hospitality development located along Wazee Street between 18th and 19th streets, on the historic Denver Windsor Dairy Block in LoDo and just one block from Union Station. Dairy Block is not only buzzing with activity as the project nears completion but the latest lineup of tenants is also causing a stir.
For those who are just learning about this new project, Dairy Block is developed by project partners McWHINNEY, Grand American Inc., Sage Hospitality, and Sage Restaurant Group and broke ground on May 11, 2015. The first phase of tenants launched the openings of Kachina Southwestern Grill and Poka Lola Social Club, adjacent to the new, independent Maven Hotel. Scheduled to open in no particular order are Huckleberry Roasters coffee, The Perfect Petal flower shop and the new whiskey bar, Seven Grand, just to name a few.
The last phase will commence Denver's first pedestrian-only alleyway. Partly inspired by Seattles's Pike Place Market, it will run through the block from 18th and 19th between Wazee and Blake streets and hosts a plethora of eateries, bars and retail shops. As a foodie myself, I'm excited to see Dairy Block come alive within the coming months!
